Color

This was our kitchen table at Burning Man. I brought the Mexican vinyl tablecloth and the green knife. Karen brought the blue cutting board because she knew I’d like it. I put oranges on it to cut them for breakfast and the palette was complete.

That’s a smoodge of playa mud in the top left corner. The dust gets on everything. One quickly becomes used to the concept of “playa clean.”

I loved eating outdoors everyday. Having a kitchen in the open air. We ate very well. Lots of burners eat out of cans or subsist on Clif Bars. We ate Tom Ka Gai soup, fresh coleslaw and dal with jasmine rice. Real food.
